Crochet Hook Case

November 18, 2023

Do your crochet hooks rattle around all over the place? Then, crochet this Crochet Hook Case to store them all neatly! The roll case has space for 10 crochet hooks in different sizes, a pair of scissors, and some stitch markers. You will always have all your crochet tools on hand. You can crochet the roll case with any Yarn or Color that you have on hand. This pattern can easily be customized to fit your own style, and needs. I have modified my pattern to include more crochet hooks, and two roomy pockets. I have also changed the style of closure to straps.

Not all crochet hooks are created equal! For example, some are very skinny. Tunisian crochet hooks are really long, while others have much thicker, ergonomic handles. You can easily adapt the hook holder to fit your own specific hooks. I recommend that you do! The author has designed this pattern with pockets. You never know when a little pocket will come in handy. Indeed, a crochet hook case is no exception. I think you will always need little pockets for all of your assorted notions.

This handy crochet hook holder is the ideal place to keep all your favorite hooks, notions, and crochet patterns that you are currently working on located all in one place! In addition, you can store all your printed patterns in one of the pockets.

This pattern is written by Nicole Riley at nickishomemadecrafts.com.

Fasten off

Measurements: 2×0.75 inches

Note: I decided to modify this pattern, and I made crochet straps instead of the Outside Closure Loop (please see directions below).

OUTSIDE STRAPS (OPTIONAL):

I began by making a Foundation Chain of 60 stitches. (please see above photo).

Next, I sc in each st until the end of the strap, 60 st. (please see above photo).

I created six of these straps. After finishing them I weaved in all tails (please see above photo).

I calculated each strap's placement: 3 inches apart. I marked where each strap should be placed on the case. I stiched each individual strap onto the case, being careful to line up each strap with its corresponding strap on the opposite side. I secured each end, and I weaved in any remaining tails (please see above photo).

OUTSIDE CLOSURE:

Using the color Lilac, Ch 36

R1: starting from the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in each ch, turn (35sts)

R2 – 4: 1 sc in each st, turn

Fasten off

Measurements: 10×1 inches

FINISHING THE CROCHET HOOK HOLDER:

  • Firstly, sew the right bottom pocket to the inner layer. Then sew the top right pocket with a flap to the inner layer as well. Next, sew the hook pocket to the bottom left corner of the inner layer. Insert your tallest hook so you can see where to sew the protector flap to the inner layer.

  • Finally, sew hook separator lines using a running stitch to the hook pocket in the distance you need for your hooks. Each brand has different hook measurements. So make sure to test it out. Consequently, I made some smaller hook pockets for thinner hooks (Tunisian hooks) and some larger ones (Furls Hooks).
